The accord will strengthen and expand bilateral relations and was announced by Ortet following a meeting with her Angolan counterpart.
“Angola will grant us approximately 7,500 hectares for the cultivation of certain products that will then be exported to Cape Verde. We will merely finance the activity,” she declared.
The area in question is located in the municipality of Quibala, Kwanza Sul. Investments will be channeled into grain crops, particularly corn.
In the view of Angola’s Minister of Agriculture, Afonso Pedro Canga, the initiative will benefit both countries, given that it will provide more jobs and help combat poverty.
