Cape Verdean students in Fortaleza request help to repatriate remains of Paulo Romão 20 Julho 2015

With a letter published on various social networking sites and sent to the University of Fortaleza and other entities, Cape Verdean students in Fortaleza (the capital of the Brazilian state of Ceará) are asking for financial help to repatriate the remains of student Paulo Romão, who was killed in a hit-and-run accident last week, to Cape Verde for burial. In order to meet their objective, they will need some 20,000 reals.

As such, the late student’s classmates and colleagues are appealing to people’s good will and asking them to contribute through the bank account of Jezabel Mitsa do Nascimento Gertrudes, Banco do Brasil branch 1121-5, Account number 23.557-1. 24-year-old Paulo Romão Santos had been studying Systems Development Analysis at Estácio University in Fortaleza for the past three years. In addition to his studies, the young native of Porto Novo (Santo Antão) worked as a waiter. He was hit by an unidentified motorist on July 15 and succumbed to his injuries this past Friday at Instituto José Frota Hospital in the Ceará state capital.
