Entrepreneurs apply for funds from African Diaspora Marketplace 23 Dezembro 2014

Entrepreneurs from the Cape Verdean Diaspora – and the African Diaspora in general – in the United States may now apply for funds from the African Diaspora Marketplace, a program in which the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Western Union are cooperating.

Entrepreneurs apply for funds from African Diaspora Marketplace

The program is a sort of business competitiveness plan conceived to support the spirit of entrepreneurship among the African diaspora in the United States. It is intended as a way to promote economic development in sub-Saharan Africa through the facilitation of direct investments in small and mid-sized businesses.

The Cape Verdean Embassy in Washington, D.C., and the Consulate General in Boston, Massachusetts, are challenging Cape Verdean-American entrepreneurs, as well as Cape Verdean entrepreneurs residing in the United States, to apply for funds of between US$ 50,000 and 100,000 based on the quality and viability of the business projects they present and on their capacity to raise funds in the diaspora.
