Three TACV flights cancelled after technical problem with ATR 14 March 2012
One of TACV Cabo Verde Airlines’ ATR aircrafts, which was carrying out a regularly scheduled flight between Praia and Sal, was forced to return to Praia International Airport because of a technical problem, according to information from the company’s press office.
The flight left Praia at approximately 2:15 pm, but, shortly thereafter, a technical problem was detected, forcing the pilot to return to the point of departure. According to TACV’s Carlos Carvalho, the ATR has been repaired and the flight has been carried out.
Because of the technical problem, the connection to Boa Vista had to be cancelled, but this was just one of the cancellations that the airline was forced to make. Due to the dry haze currently covering the country, the airline’s flights to the islands of São Nicolau and Fogo were also cancelled, according to TACV’s press office.
No flights have been carried out to the island of São Nicolau since last Friday, a fact that has left a number of prospective travelers desperate. Passengers on Fogo have benefited, meanwhile, from the extra connections being carried out by Cabo Verde Fast Ferry.
