The tropical depression that formed south of the islands of Fogo and Brava has now brought rain to Cape Verde’s northern islands. The thankfully light rain is expected to continue throughout most of the day today, according to meteorologists.
The heavy rains that fell in the early morning hours of Wednesday throughout the island of Fogo flooded a number of homes in the Santa Filomena and Lém neighborhoods of São Filipe, and washed out the Baleia road in Mosteiros.
