Rutera on tour in Cape Verde 23 Julho 2009

Brazilian band Rutera will perform Thursday, July 23, in Praia’s Cockpit club, in the first Cape Verdean – and indeed African – concert by the group, whose music blends reggae, dub, funk and soul.

Culturarte begins in Mindelo 21 Julho 2009

The third edition of the CulturArte program began yesterday in Mindelo, with Minister of Youth Sidónio Monteiro kicking off the summer arts and culture course that this years has brought together 75 youths between the ages of 15 and 19. This year, in a change from the first two editions, the program will have the exclusive participation of Cape Verdean students hailing from the islands of Maio, Boa Vista, São Nicolau, Fogo, Sal, Santiago and São Vicente.
