In declarations to the press, Serifo Nhamadjo affirmed that September 8 had been chosen by consensus among the members of the parliament’s permanent commission, which met on Friday, July 31.
“It was a consensual date, despite the fact that the indicative date we had originally used was September 12. But given the international implications that this date carries, we decided to schedule the swearing-in for September 8,” said Nhamadjo.
