Adérito Sena Stadium will be the setting for the games in the São Vicente group. The first round of the first phase today will feature matches between Marítimo and Académica do Fogo (2:00 pm) and Batuque and Rosariense (4:00 pm). The second round will take place tomorrow with the following games: Rosariense x Marítimo (2:00 pm) and Académica do Fogo x Belo Horizonte (4:00 pm).
The third round will be played on Thursday, July 23: Marítimo x Belo Horizonte (2:00 pm) and Batuque x Académica do Fogo (4:00 pm). The fourth and next-to-last round is scheduled for Saturday, July 25, when Batuque will go up against Belo Horizonte and Rosariense will test itself against Académica do Fogo. In the fifth and last round on Sunday, July 26, Belo Horizonte will play against Rosariense and Batuque against Marítimo.
Sal’s Mercelo Leitão Stadium will host the Group B games beginning tomorrow, July 21, when Académico do Sal will go up against Sal Rei at 2:00 pm and Boa Vista against 11 Unidos at 4:00 pm. The second round will take place on the 23rd, with Sal Rei facing off against 11 Unidos and Académico do Sal against Boa Vista. The final round will see Sal Rei play Boa Vista and Académico do Sal play 11 Unidos.
The two highest-qualified teams in each group will go on to the final phase of the 2009 Cape Verde Cup, which will take place in Praia’s Várzea Stadium. On July 30, the first-place team in Group A will play against the second-placed team in Group B at 2:00 pm, and the first-placed team from Group B will face off against the second-placed club from Group A at 4:00 pm. The winners of these two games will go on to the final, which will be played at 4:00 pm on August 1.
